The Gibson D. Lewis Health Science Library at the University of North Texas Health Science Center invites applications for the position of Health Professions Coordinator for the South Central Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM SCR)
Funded by the National Library of Medicine (NLM) through a cooperative agreement, the Gibson D. Lewis Health Science Library serves as the regional medical library headquarters for the South Central Region, one of eight regions in the NNLM nationwide program. NNLM SCR comprises Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The NNLM mission is to ensure health professionals, researchers, the public health workforce, patients, families and the general public have access to quality health information.
We seek a creative and enthusiastic professional to join our team. This coordinator will develop educational and outreach programming for health professionals and allied health practitioners. Primary position duties include creating and offering health information courses and educational programs for nurses, public health practitioners, libraries and the community. The Health Professions Coordinator will create connections with National Network of Libraries of Medicine partners by traveling to member institutions throughout the South Central Region to provide training and increase awareness of National Library of Medicine and NNLM resources and services.
The successful candidate will be committed to providing service and developing partnerships with key stakeholders. Individuals with public health, health education, public library, academic library, outreach programming, health information instruction, or other relevant experience are encouraged to apply. A Master’s degree is required. M.Ed, MS, MSN, MLS, MLIS or MPH preferred.
Positions are full time, benefits-eligible. Coordinator positions require approximately 20% travel to regional partner institutions and a valid driver’s license.
