PubMed Update

Abstract

This 1 to 1 1/2 hour update focuses on the changes to the PubMed interface as they exist at the time of the class.

Objectives

Participants will be able to recognize and use the new features of PubMed. Participants will learn to use the Advanced Search page. Participants will learn features in MyNCBI.

Agenda

Introduction and PubMed Homepage - 10 minutes
Advanced Search Page - 15-25 minutes
Search Results and Discovery Objects (current features) - 20-30 minutes
MyNCBI - 10-15 minutes
Questions, wrap-up, evaluation - 5-10 minutes

Course Materials

Handouts will be created at the time of the class to identify the current features being highlighted.

Continuing Education

Upon successful completion of this class, each participant will receive 1 to 1.5 hours of continuing education credit awarded by the Medical Library Association(MLA). The course can be found on the MLA site under PubMed Update.
