The Serial Holdings section of DOCLINE contains information about the serials owned by each DOCLNE library. DOCLINE uses this information to route a request for a copy of a journal article only to libraries that own the journal.

It is important to keep your DOCLINE Serial Holdings information up to date so that the system can route correctly. Plan to update your Serial Holdings at least once a year. Ideally, this information should be updated whenever you start or cancel a subscription.

The first step to updating DOCLINE Serial Holdings is to order a report of your holdings:

  1. Select the Serial Holdings tab.
  2. Click on the Reports button.
  3. Click on the Holdings by Library link in the left-hand column.
  4. Confirm Report Format Type and Select Report Fields.
  5. Click on the Submit Report button.

Your report request will be processed overnight, and should appear linked from your DOCLINE Home Page the following morning.

Report Format

You can receive your report in either Standard or Delimited format.

  • Use Standard format if you simply want to print the report.
  • Use Delimited format if you want to import the information into a spreadsheet or database.
Compare to Prepare

Compare your holdings report with your current local serial records and make notes, to prepare for updating your DOCLINE Serial Holdings.
