Set Your Loansome Doc Options

Use the Loansome Doc Options screen in your DOCLINE Institution Record to indicate:

  • Who receives Loansome Doc service from your library.
  • Who is charged for Loansome Doc service from your library.
  • How you will provide copies of articles to your Loansome Doc clients.
  • Special registration instructions for your Loansome Doc clients.

Manage Your Loansome Doc Accounts

Go to the Loansome Doc Patrons tab to view and edit your patrons' records.

  • Search for an individual's record, or
  • Leave all search boxes blank and click the Search button to retrieve all records.

 

Respond to Loansome Doc Requests

Loansome Doc requests will appear on your DOCLINE Home screen. Click on the link to display and then print them. Individual libraries' Loansome Doc procedures vary, but in general:

  • Fill the requests that you can from your own collection.
  • Transfer those that you cannot fill into DOCLINE, and send them as borrowing requests to another library.

Loansome Doc User Interface

Your Loansome Doc patrons can start with a PubMed search and then they can:

  • Log in to their accounts and send requests to your library.
  • Request that NLM send them their password if they have forgotten it.
  • Register for a new account if they don't have one yet.
  • Edit their records.
  • Check on the status of their requests.
