NLM Resources for National Minority Health Month

The HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has released a statement declaring April a time to “commemorate National Minority Health Month, a time to raise awareness about health disparities that persist among racial and ethnic minorities.”

This year’s theme is Prevention is Power: Taking Action for Health Equity.  The theme emphasizes the “critical role of prevention in reducing health disparities.”  This health observance supports the HHS goal of achieving “a nation free of disparities in health and health care.”

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has several free health information resources that support eliminating minority health disparities.  These resources include multicultural health Web sites, minority health information handouts, and HIV/AIDS information and funding.  To find these resources, click on the Web links below:
