If you register by the September 6th early bird deadline, you will save $50! Please note that the member rate applies to members of any MLA chapter.

Overall, the conference is rich in highlights.

Featured speaker Dr. Andrew Watson will present, “Healthcare 2.0: Why we must reboot healthcare to create our future,” discussing how facilitating connections between healthcare professionals and patients can improve quality of care and patient engagement.

Acclaimed author Lee Gutkind will discuss writing about medicine. Gutkind has written numerous books about healthcare that illustrate the human elements, including both patients and professionals.

The program will include 12 contributed papers, 38 poster sessions, and four CE courses as well as presentations from MLA President Dixie Jones and NLM’s Chief of Technical Service Jennifer Marrill and representatives of the RMLs.

If you have never been to Pittsburgh…you are in for a pleasant surprise!

Pittsburgh is easy to get to whether you’re driving or flying. It’s a beautiful city of hills, bridges, cultural attractions, and exciting nightlife.

The conference hotel is located on the Allegheny River in the heart of the cultural district and Downtown Pittsburgh. It’s within walking distance of theaters and museums as well as shopping and restaurants.

Also, you have to try Pittsburgh’s historic inclines – they are 143 and 136 years old! The inclines will take you up Mount Washington for spectacular views overlooking the city. For more information on what to do while you’re in Pittsburgh, see: http://macmla.libguides.com/mac_pittsburgh.
