I enjoyed the website, and from my previous career of Human Resources, found all the suggestions very sound. As I approach completion of my MLS to begin a new career in Medical Librarianship, I need all the tips I can receive to equip me to "sit on the other side of the desk." I took notes and posted them on my course's in Blackboard.

I was particularly intriqued with the idea of an e-Portfolio..I plan to begin creation of one, and would benefit from any information available about that specific topic (my birthday is in July, so I may need to begin hinting for an IPAD to carry with me to interviews!).

What is the process to access the Webinar slides?

Thanks,
Linda

Thank you for your comment, Geri, and you have valid points regarding success stories of thriving medical libraries/librarians. In fact, a webinar highlighting successful librarians' stories would be of value to all of us. I have always and will continue to call myself a librarian and have no apologies for that. My plan for the presentation was to give as many options for our current and future librarians as possible and to give "real world" advice on how to be successful in whatever environment you choose.

Thanks, Geri. We appreciate the feedback. We very much like to feature as many ideas as possible, including opposing ones. I do feel, however, that the first half of the webinar featured good suggestions regarding how to stay relevant and successful and keep one's library and position afloat.

I was very disappointed in the "SEA" webinar this morning. Basically, the speaker's message was "bail out, sell out, call yourself anything but a librarian, do a non-librarian job, pander to your constituency, rename your library, etc. etc". I have to say this was a horrible message to put out there, especially to newly minted medical or health sciences librarians. There are so many success stories of thriving medical librarians out there amidst the sad stories that should have been at least mentioned or highlighted. This presentation was tragic.
