Update on the NN/LM SE/A Disaster Planning Task Force
- task force members met in Ocean Springs, Mississippi on February 28, 2007 (for details and pictures, see the SE/A Disaster Planning Task Force wiki)
- task force members conducted assessments of disaster planning for selected hospital, academic and special libraries in their states
- recent changes to task force membership: Nic Cecchino replaced by Wanda Whitney of the Harrison Library, Johns Hopkins University; Lisa Antley-Hearn replaced by Fay Towell of the Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center in Greenville, South Carolina
- the name of the task force will be changing from “Disaster Planning” to “Emergency Preparedness” in order to encompass a broader scope
- the task force continues to monitor the situation at Sumter Regional Hospital, Americus, Georgia, which was heavily damaged by a tornado on March 1 (for further updates, check the “Disaster Planning in Health Sciences Libraries blog”
- Report to SE/A Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) on April 9, 2007: Dan presented the report from the Ocean Springs meeting. The RAC was very pleased with the achievements of the Task Force and members were very supportive of future developments.
