This year World AIDS will continue with the theme; “Stop AIDS: Keep the Promise”. However, the World AIDS Campaign is coordinating a process through which the theme will be given far more adaptation at the local level. This responds to long-standing concerns from organizations around the world that themes coming from Geneva and promoted globally are insufficiently sensitive to local issues and priorities.

Slogans relating to accountability will be generated according to different settings. The tag-line to each unique campaign slogan will be: “Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise”. This will happen at every level, from major international celebrity driven campaigns, down to grass roots advocacy and social mobilization around December 1, 2006. As an example, if a campaign is run to address policy failures in relation to children, then the slogan might run: “A Future For Children - Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise”. http://www.worldaidscampaign.info/index.php/wac/wac/
