Take Only as Directed: NLM's Drug Information Resources

Abstract

The National Library of Medicine has many prescription, over-the-counter and dietary supplement databases and resources.  Learn what databases you should use for the information services in your library.  This hands-on-class for librarians will provide an overview of several of NLM’s drug information databases including: Drug Information Portal, Daily Med, Dietary Supplements Labels and evidence-based resources.

Objectives

After this workshop participants will be able to:

• Identify the most appropriate drug information databases for reference, training or research
• Develop searches in NLM databases on drug and dietary supplements
