Healthy Aging Workshop to be held at Broken Arrow, OK May 6

The NN/LM SCR will be offering Healthy Aging at Your Library: Connecting Older Adults to Health Information at the Northeastern State University, Broken Arrow Campus near Tulsa, OK on May 6, 2010.

Class Description
Are you interested in expanding your services to older adults?  This “train the trainer” class is designed to help librarians assist their older adult patrons find health information. Discover techniques for teaching older adults to use computers and to find health information on the Internet, learn what makes a website senior-friendly; plan programs on senior health topics; and learn about some recommended health websites for older adults.  For more information about the class: http://nnlm.gov/training/healthyaging/

This will be followed by a 2-hour workshop called “Online Information for Older Oklahomans” taught by Steve Beleu and Robbie Sittel.
