Health Information Needs Assessment Award Recipients
The NN/LM SCR is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2012-2013 Health Information Needs Assessment Award. The purpose of the Health Information Needs Assessment Award is to improve outreach through increased knowledge of community health information needs.
Recipient: Tulane University, Rudolph Matas Library of the Health Sciences, New Orleans, LA
Project Title: Making The Youth Connection: Matas Library health information needs assessment of youth in New Orleans school-based health centers
Description: The goal of this project is to uncover insights and perspectives about health information-seeking behaviors and needs of youth in New Orleans. A formative evaluation process using focus groups is proposed to elicit this information.
Recipient: University of Oklahoma – Tulsa Schusterman Library, Tulsa, OK
Project Title: School Health Connection: A Health Information Needs Assessment of School Nurses in Tulsa County
Description: This project will assess the health information resource needs of school nurses employed within the public school districts of Tulsa County. The project will employ electronic surveys and focus group sessions to ascertain current use of health information sources, current school health initiatives, and perceived opportunities for partnerships and collaborations leading to future outreach projects.
