When Apple released the iPad in April of this year, competition to keep up with the latest trend in technology began to heat up. From Dell to RIM (the makers of the Blackberry), developers began designing new mobile options to compete in the now fast growing tablet market.
According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, three tablet computing devices including the iPad, the Dell Streak and the soon to be released Samsung Galaxy Tab are already making waves in the tablet market. Additional news surrounding the creation of a tablet option from RIM is drawing the interest of Blackberry devotees. Tablet options from Cisco, Lenovo and Acer are expecting in the coming year.
As tablet computing grows in popularity, expect to see the options available continue to grow. Pricing options may also begin to vary. Advances in technology may also bring about faster tablets with even larger screens. In the medical and library workplace, tablet use may also begin to provide easier access to e-books, email, and the Internet.
