Healthy Roads Media Has New Multilingual Materials
Healthy Roads Media has created a number of new free materials. First, there is a set of HIV/AIDS materials in English and French that have been made possible with the support of the Specialized Information Services Division of the National Library of Medicine. There are new materials (English and Spanish) that focus on helping to get parents to ask questions about their children’s health care. These are based on the SpeakUp materials of The Joint Commission. There are English and Somali web videos that provide guidance on drawing up insulin and giving a subcutaneous injection. These diabetes education materials were developed by Health Information Translations (http://www.healthinfotranslations.org) and have been reformatted and made available here with their permission. Lastly, there is a new English language title that deals with reading medication labels. It is made possible through a partnership with a collaborative team from New York (Edward G. Miner Library, University of Rochester and Rochester Committee on Refugee Resettlement). It is also being developed in the Karen language.
