New NN/LM SCR Funding Opportunities

The NN/LM SCR is happy to announce two new funding opportunities now available:

Community Preparedness Day Award
The purpose of the Community Preparedness Day Award is to assist libraries in becoming active partners in their community’s emergency preparedness, response and recovery planning activities.  The objectives of Community Preparedness Day are: Integrate and involve libraries into their community’s emergency preparedness, response and recovery planning activities; Provide access to emergency management information tools and resources to first responders, public health workforce, health care professionals and the community;  Promote and publicize the role libraries can play in emergency preparedness.
Amount of funding:  Two (2) projects up to $5,000 each will be awarded.

Historical Preservation and Digitization Award
The purpose of the Historical Preservation and Digitization award is to increase accessibility to historic and unique items in the South Central Region by providing funding for network members to digitize portions of their collections. These digital collections will then be made freely available online
Amount of funding: Three (3) projects up to $25,000 each will be awarded.
Deadline for Applications: March 15, 2010
