New Version of TOXMAP
A new version of the TOXMAP database http://toxmap.nlm.nih.gov was released on August 7, 2007. Among the many enhancements:
- Users can create custom geographic regions within US states and/or state counties. When a region is chosen, all TOXMAP maps show TRI and Superfund results only inside the specified region (including states, counties and territories). The customized geographic regions can be saved and used in later TOXMAP searches.
- TRI and Superfund data is now searchable by chemical in either TRI, Superfund, or both datasets. Usres can search TRI by release medium (air, land, water, underground injection). Superfund data can be searched by Hazardous Ranking System and the site’s status on the National Priorities List.
- Users can view TRI summary data for a region. Summary data includes names annd release amounts of chemicals released by facilities in the region.
