HRSA Telehealth Network Grant
The HRSA Telehealth Network Grant program announcement is now available. The Office for the Advancement of Telehealth within HRSA, administers the Telehealth Network Grant program to demonstrate how telehealth programs and networks can improve access to quality healthcare services in underserved rural and urban communities.
The grants are awarded in two ways:
The Telehealth Networks (TNGP-TH) grant program supports telehealth networks to provide services in different settings such as long term care facilities, community health centers, clinics, physician offices, hospitals, schools, assisted living facilities, and homes. The grant funding is used to demonstrate how telehealth networks can be used to expand access, coordinate, and improve the quality of health information that is available to healthcare providers, patients, and their families.
The other program, called the Telehomecare Networks TNGP-THC grant program focuses on telehealth networks to improve healthcare through the provision of clinical care and remote monitoring of patients in their home using telehealth technologies.
Applicants for the funding can be rural or urban nonprofit entities that provide services through a telehealth network or a telehomecare network. The application deadline is July 21, 2006 with a projected award date of September 01, 2006 and the estimated project end data is August 31, 2007.
The estimated amount for this competition is $4,250,000. Fifteen awards will be made for TNGP-TH and three awards for TNGP-THC. The average size of awards will be $250,000 for TNGP-TH grants and $230,000 for TNGP-THC grants.
