In the learning needs assessment done with Network members and members of three MLA chapters in 2005, we found that the top barriers to taking "in person" courses are travel distance, time away from work, and cost. This section points to various distance learning opportunities that help reduce those barriers.

Technology Classes

We regularly offer technology classes online through Adobe Connect (no special software needed). Learn about RSS feeds, iGoogle, micro-blogging, podcasting, and blogs and wikis. Watch the PSR-News list for announcements of dates and times for the sessions. If you can't attend the "live" sessions, you can watch a recording here. The sessions below are examples of classes that have been recorded:

Genetics Workshops

These genetics workshops cover resources for health care professionals and consumers. They include OMIM-Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man, GeneTests, PubMed, Genetics Home Reference, MedlinePlus, and ClinicalTrials.gov.
