PSR Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) Meeting Held at UCLA!

On Wednesday, March 27, 2013, a meeting of the NN/LM PSR Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) was convened at the UCLA Faculty Center. The committee had not met as a large group for several years, so the membership was completely reconstituted and revitalized! Fifteen committee members, representing the constituencies served by the RML, attended the meeting, along with RML staff. Composition of the committee includes health professionals, hospital librarians, academic librarians, school and public librarians, community college librarians, community health librarians, and community-based organization representatives. DOCLINE Version 4.9 Released!

Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Introduces Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for Academic and Research Libraries

On February 3, 2012, the UCLA Library proudly hosted the inaugural event introducing the much anticipated ARL Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for Academic and Research Libraries. This code, created by the academic library community and reviewed by an outside panel of distinguished copyright experts, provides a guide to academic librarians as they manage risks and make important decisions for their institutions. The UCLA event featured Peter Jaszi, Professor of Law, at American University’s Center for Social Media, and Brandon Butler, Director of Public Policy Initiatives, at the Association of Research Libraries. DOCLINE 4.7 Released With New Medical Serials Print Preservation Program Feature!

DOCLINE 4.7 was released on September 28, 2011. The major enhancement to this version of DOCLINE was the introduction of changes to the serial holdings module in support of MedPrint, a new NLM and NN/LM national cooperative medical serials print retention program. MedPrint seeks to ensure the preservation of and continued access to selected biomedical journals in print. The program is open to participating DOCLINE libraries in the U.S. (more…)

We have posted the new National Network of Libraries of Medicine Resource Sharing Plan for 2011-2016, which provides policy and guidance for the future.
