NACCHO Now Accepting 2012 Model Practices Applications
The National Association of City & County Health Officials (NACCHO) is now accepting model practice applications October 10 through November 11, 2011. Since 2003, NACCHO’s Model Practices Awards program has provided national recognition and honors to initiatives that demonstrate how local public health departments and their community partners can collaborate effectively to address local public health concerns.
The Model Practice Database is a searchable collection of innovative best practices across public health areas, including community health, environmental health, public health infrastructure, and emergency preparedness. The database provides the opportunity to see what strategies are most effective in implementing effective programs, which get good results, and save time and resources. By submitting a practice, local health departments contribute to the overall improvement of public health through evidence-based practice methods.
Successful applicants will receive national recognition through press releases, and a spotlight in the fall 2012 issue of NACCHO Exchange, as well as a listing in NACCHO’s Model Practice Database. Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to showcase a poster of the practice at the Model Practices Reception during the 2012 NACCHO Annual Conference, being held July 11-13, 2012, in Los Angeles, CA.
To submit a Model Practices application, consult the step-by-step instructions in the 2012 Model Practices Applicant User Guide. For more information about the Model Practices program, contact the Model Practices team at firstname.lastname@example.org or 202-507-4250.
