PDQ passwords will become obsolete later this year, and access to all MEDLARS databases and features will be permitted only with a MEDLARS (ELHILL) User ID and Password. PDQ searchers may begin using their MEDLARS passwords to access the database now. Grateful Med (GM) users and command language searchers should change the password in their GM PDQ setup or communications software automatic logon script to their MEDLARS password. However, users who ftp results of Auto SDI searches, or issue the $DSPR INT command from the MEDLARS server must continue using the PDQ password until further notice. Command language searchers are also reminded that they can access PDQ from any USER: prompt in the MEDLARS system by typing the command, FILE PDQ.
