The UCSF Library and Center for Knowledge Management is pleased to announce GALEN II, version 1, the digital library of the University of California, San Francisco. The goal of GALEN II is to provide the UCSF community with integrated access to heal th sciences information produced locally at UCSF and throughout the world. This includes local campus information, published health sciences literature, important health sciences databases, and quality information resources available on the Internet. GALE N II can be found at http://www.library.ucsf.edu.
The initial release, GALEN II, version 0, was a prototype system. In addition to a new look, GALEN II, version 1 has many new important features:
The Library and Center for Knowledge Management is committed to the ongoing development of GALEN II. More features, including an interface to MELVYL MEDLINE PLUS that links to the actual journal articles in the Red Sage system (such as the New Engla nd Journal of Medicine), are envisioned for future GALEN II versions (NOTE: Some current and future GALEN II features will only be available to current UCSF faculty, staff and students).
