EFTS News

New EFTS Web System

As this issue of Latitudes is being published, EFTS has scheduled a release of a new web-based system. Libraries will be able to join EFTS using the new web system, and current EFTS participants will be able to upload their transaction data directly via the web. Look for 'Member Login' on the EFTS web site.

The new application process includes four steps: 1) fill out the application on the EFTS web site; 2) download a copy of the Memorandum of Agreement, sign it, and send it to the EFTS office; 3) establish a deposit account; and 4) sign up for the EFTS listserv. To upload transaction data, you simply navigate your browser to the file on your computer, click on upload, and see if the transactions load. If there are any problems with the file, you will get a message about the specific problems. Then you can edit the text file and resubmit it on the spot.

EFTS staff will be available at their exhibit booth at the Joint Meeting in Sacramento at the end of January 2004. Stop by and get acquainted!
