View Training Schedule by Location

The National Library of Medicine Training Center (NTC) under NLM contract HHS-N-276-2011-00011-C sponsors in-person classroom sessions across the country each year. The NTC, located at the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library at University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT is responsible for the training of health information professionals, health professionals, and members of the general public on the searching capabilities of a variety of National Library of Medicine databases. The following list is the current schedule with sites, dates, and a link to register for each class.

Class Details

• PubMed® for Trainers requires attendance at all sessions, both online and in-person.
• PubMed® for Trainers is eligible for 15 MLA CE credits. It is held in 4 sessions, 3 online sessions and 1 in person session; in addition, it requires 2-3 hours of independent work to be done outside of class time.
• TOXNET® and Beyond classes use a workbook available from the NIH website. Class participants may access the electronic version of the workbook on their computer during class OR print a copy and bring it to class. This policy does not apply to classes held at the National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, MD, as printed workbooks are provided.
• Classes are open only to residents of the United States.
• Classes will be cancelled if minimum registration is not met six weeks prior to the class dates. Minimum registration is 12-15 confirmed registrants.
• Our mailing lists are strictly confidential. We do not sell or share our mailing lists.
• If the class you wish to register for is marked "Wait List," you may still register for that class with the understanding that you will be placed on a waiting list with no guarantee that you will actually be able to attend. The waiting list is prioritized on a "first come" basis.
