Class Description

Mobile devices are fast becoming commonly used in education, communication, and for information retrieval. This class is designed to provide participants with hands-on learning opportunities using some of the most popular mobile devices including the iPad and Kindle e-reader. The class will provide an overview of other popular tablets and e-readers and how these devices are transforming education and learning. This class includes discussion and hand-on activities with tablets and e-readers. Hands-on activities will include exploration of mobile sites and apps from the National Library of Medicine as well as exploration of basic features of e-readers. A mobile device petting zoo will provide class attendees the opportunity to see and use some of the most popular tablet and e-reader device options. MLA Clearinghouse:
