MedlinePlus (http://medlineplus.gov) is the National Library of Medicine’s website for patients and their families and friends. It provides information about diseases, conditions, and wellness issues. MedlinePlus offers reliable, up-to-date health information, anytime, anywhere for free. You can use MedlinePlus to learn about the latest treatments, look up information on a drug or supplement, find out the meanings of words or view medical videos or illustrations. You can also get links to the latest medical research on your topic and sign up for updates on health topics that matter to you. You will learn how to link MedlinePlus.gov on your website, and about funding opportunities from the National Network of Libraries of Medicine for health information outreach. This workshop will be presented by Michelle Eberle, Consumer Health Information Coordinator, National Network of Libraries of Medicine, New England Region.
You are invited to join us at the Leominster Public Library on Februrary 26th for a networking breakfast meeting to learn about MedlinePlus, a free health information site, to help you provide health information to your clients.
