On April 6th at the third annual University of Massachusetts and New England Librarian e-Science Symposium, the e-Science Portal for New England Librarians was officially launched. Initiated by the Lamar Soutter Library with funding from the National Network of Libraries of Medicine New England Region, the portal has been developed by a collaboration of New England area science and medical librarians. It provides links to resources about e-Science, data management, current library projects, e-Science news/opportunities, and science primers—specifically for science and medical librarians working in research organizations. The e-Science Community blog portion of the portal serves as a discussion forum for librarians as well as a community bulletin board for the latest e-science news, events and opportunities.
