NER sponsoring upcoming MLA Research webinar
The National Network of Libraries of Medicine, New England Region is sponsoring the MLA Webinar-Research versus research: sometimes the little r is all you need on Wednesday December 11, 2013, 2-3:30pm.
With so many changes happening in health care, medical libraries are forced to change their focus and end goals to align with those of the hospital, academic medical center, or organization. Demonstrating value now means proving the library saves the institution money rather than keeping statistics of interlibrary loans filled, searches completed, and other traditional metrics. This presentation will help medical librarians gain a better understanding of what types of research they can do to help prove value, whether it be formal Research (with a big R) or quality initiative research (with a little r). Often times, the little r is all you need. At the end of this session, participants should have a better understanding of how to approach and complete projects, including deciding between Research and research, choosing the best data collection method, and reporting the results.
