Institute of Medicine - The Institute of Medicine (IOM) is an independent, nonprofit organization that works outside of government to provide unbiased and authoritative advice to decision makers and the public.

Helping Consumers Understand and Use Health Insurance in 2014 - This is a fairly comprehensive paper/guide from the Institute of Medicine written to assist consumers to understand and use health insurance in 2014.

The New Health Care Law and You - This is a fairly easily to ready brochure/booklet from the Institute of Medicine where readers can learn about insurance choices, how to get, how to use, and the costs on: Medicaid; Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP); Medicare; TRICARE (for those in the military); Indian Health Services (IHS); the VA - Veterans Health Administration; Employer-Sponsored Insurance (ESI); and Health Insurance Marketplace or Health Exchange.

HealthCare.gov - information for small businesses, individuals, and families and the Health Insurance Marketplace. These resources are managed by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Federally Funded ACA Navigators Recipients (pdf) - Navigator Grant Recipients serve as an in-person resource for Americans who want additional assistance in shopping for and enrolling in plans in the Health Insurance Marketplace this fall.

Colorado

Colorado Peak - online tool to apply for public assistance benefits such as food assistance, medical benefits, emergency household expenses.

Connect for Health Colorado - As part of our customer support team, the Connect for Health Assistance Network will certify Assistance Sites across Colorado to deliver local, in-person education and help to individuals and small employers applying for health insurance coverage. Certified Health Coverage Guides located at the Assistance Sites will provide unbiased assistance with plan evaluation and the health coverage application process. In addition, they will provide outreach and public education about Connect for Health Colorado, the range of health coverage options, and help you determine if you qualify for new federal financial assistance, based on income, to reduce the cost of health insurance.
