Sandbox Session: Wordle ***Today, Tuesday December 17, 2013***
at 1 PM (MT) / 2 PM (CT)
Hello Network members,
It is time to come and play in the sandbox and check out a new(ish) toy…
At the next NN/LM MCR Technology Sandbox Session we will be “playing” with wordle.net, a free toy that generates “word clouds” from text that you provide.
There are some pretty cool word clouds that librarians are using to creatively promote their library services (just do a Google image search for “library word cloud”)
*Sandbox sessions are online get-togethers where we introduce a “toy”, such as an online app or cool tool, and quickly show you how it works (where the cool buttons and switches are). Then you’ll get to play with it and show the rest of us (or not if you are shy) what you came up with.
Please come and play in our sandbox!
Date: Tuesday, December 17, 2013
Time: 1:00pm (Mountain Time) / 2:00pm (Central Time)
***Dial-in instructions will be posted in the webinar room.***
How Sandbox Session work: We pick a toy /tool, in this case Wordle, where the…
presenter will demo some of the basic features with time for participants to try it out on their own.
The only objectives for the Sandbox sessions are for you to 1) have a special time to learn something new and 2) project how this technology could be integrated into your professional life…oh, and 3) have some fun while learning.
You do NOT need to register for the session. You do NOT need to pay anything. You NEED to COME and PLAY.
