What do You Know about Big Data?

What do information and data specialists need to know about data-intensive research tools for data management? What can researchers gain from working with librarians? What can we all gain from a better understanding of the research data lifecycle, from either a researcher or library perspective?  “The Research Lifecycle: Partnering for Success” (http://nnlm.gov/2013escience/) will explore these questions and provide opportunities to network and interact with librarians and data specialists.   You’ll hear the latest on what’s happening with big data from keynote speaker, Victoria Stodden, who has focused on developing standards of openness for data and code sharing, and solving legal and policy barriers. Hear from panelists about tools — Eagle-i , VIVO, Data Management Planning Tool, RedCap — that will help librarians and researchers deal with data generated by research.

This is a hybrid session with presenters located in Seattle and Salt Lake City and participants located in Seattle, Portland, and Salt Lake City.
