Professional Development Awards will be available to attend the new bioinformatics training course: “A Librarian’s Guide to NCBI.” Instructors will be NCBI staff and Diane Rein, Ph.D., MLS. Applications will be accepted from librarians currently providing bioinformatics services as well as from those desiring to implement services. The application deadline for the class is January 25, 2013. There are two parts to the course, the first part is online and the second part is in-person. Applicants must take both parts. To apply for a Professional Development Award:
- Applicant must be a health sciences librarian from a full member institution of the NN/LM MidContinental Region.
- Must apply by Jan. 25, 2012. Notification to applicants will take place Feb 1, 2013.
