There are an estimated 560,000 new medical articles published every year, and 20,000 new randomized clinical trials registered every year. With all this information and data, how do consumers and their health care team understand what works in terms of medical treatment? PubMed Health (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/), a service provided by the National Center for Biotechnology Information, specializes in reviews of clinical effectiveness research, with easy-to-read summaries for consumers and full technical reports for health professionals. In this one-hour, hands-on session, learn how to locate treatment and prevention methods that have been proven to work with PubMed Health’s systematic reviews of clinical trials.
