National Medical Librarians Month Web Site 2011

October is National Medical Librarians Month! Congratulations to all the librarians featured on NLM’s National Medical Librarians Month web site, but especially to the 7 librarians from the MCR who were highlighted for their forward thinking projects:

  • Will Olmstadt,  Judy Hansen, Bob Engeszer (Washington University School of Medicine, Becker Medical Library) for carrying out the Mobile School Health Information Initiative (MoSHI)
  • Emily Eresuma and Dona Christensen (Primary Children’s Medical Center, UT) for developing the Department of Pediatrics Morning Report Blog
  • Betsy Kelly and Lauren Yaeger (Washington University School of Medicine, Becker Medical Library and Saint Louis Children’s Hospital) for Integrating the Medical Library into Hospital Emergency Planning

Technology Sandbox Session: Polling/Scheduling Tools

The concept of MCR sandbox sessions are to offer an opportunity to schedule time to play and learn something new. Plus you’ll have someone who can answer your questions.

Objectives: 1) learn something new and 2) project usages.

This Spotlight! session focusing on National Library of Medicine Genetics Resources, will be presented by Dana Abbey.  Taking the one-hour class and completing the exercises and class evaluation makes you eligible to receive 1 Medical Library Association Continuing Education credit.
