How to Conduct Facility Tracking Using Google Apps

The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene used the freely available Google Apps tools to develop a system to track the status of thousands of facilities across the state during Hurricane Sandy.  Status updates made by local health departments were instantly reported into a ‘Master’ spreadsheet which was then shared across emergency operations centers about issues such as power outages in a nursing home, or evacuations/sheltering in place status.

The department has provided access to the template they created and instructions on how to use it.
