Project OPAL (One Page, All Libraries): Free 15-Week Library Readiness Plan

Attention MAR Libraries:  sign-up for a free 15-Week Library Readiness Plan.   At the conclusion of the 15 weeks, your library will have a one-page service continuity plan, and will be guided through other elements of library readiness, including the importance of designating shelter locations, securing partnerships with disaster recovery companies, creating a response station, and tips for integrating your library/librarians into your community’s emergency planning.
To sign-up, send email to danwilson@virginia.edu.  (Dan is the Coordinator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) Emergency Preparedness & Response Initiative.)  In the Subject field, type PROJECTOPALMAR.  You will then receive 9 weekly emails guiding you on how to fill out a one-page service continuity plan, followed by 6 weekly emails designed to further improve your library’s readiness.

This is a nationwide initiative.  Once you complete the 15 weeks, your library will be registered as a member of the Project OPAL (One Page, All Libraries) Class of 2013.  You will then receive email reminders of when to review your one-page plan and recommendations for when to perform table-top exercises and drills.

Please contact Dan if you have any questions. Registration ends June 3, so please act quickly.
