Coping with Disasters, Violence and Traumatic Events
Thanks to all who have posted on our Disaster listserv such a rich array of resources to help victims and families cope with the shooting on December 14 in Connecticut. We have consolidated many of these resources, added others, and created a new topic page called “Coping with Disasters, Violence and Traumatic Events. ”You can find this page at http://disasterinfo.nlm.nih.gov/dimrc/coping.html.
We especially direct your attention to the section on Specific Populations where we have collected a robust set of resources to help teachers, parents and others work with children dealing with violence and traumatic events. Please consider this a work in progress and we will add more resources as they become available.
Best wishes for a disaster- and violence-free New Year.
