Job Ad: Medical Librarian, Paoli Hospital
Main Line Health has an immediate need for a strong Medical Librarian to join our organization. This position will be located at Paoli Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Catalogs and classifies all monographs, serials, and audio-visual materials using NLM classification.
- Responsible for collection development in assigned subject areas
- Assists staff and students in preparing bibliographies, abstracts, or reviews and acts as a consultant in the location of study or reference materials
- Consults with staff and other library users on information retrieval and management and online searching
- Responsible for audio-visual acquisitions and development of audio-visual programs
- Prepares journals for binding
- Perform Interlibrary Loan procedures and maintain DOCLINE
- Logs in journals & Processes journal claims
- Maintains reference and reserve lists
- Performs work in accordance with specified standards
- Performs other job related duties as assigned by site supervisor & Director, library services
- Does inventory of holdings twice a year
- Work in other locations (BMH & Paoli ) as needed
- Other duties as assigned by Director
Job Requirements
- MS in Library Science or Information Science preferred
- 2-3 years Library experience preferred
- Experience in Medical Library preferred, not required
- Part Time / 20 hours a week
