NLM’s Division of Specialized Information Services (SIS) now offers a set of “Frequently Asked Questions” and answers (FAQ) for its TOXNET databases. For those new to TOXNET http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/toxnet_faq.html provides a good source of answers to questions that have already been asked. It can also be a resource for experienced TOXNET users.

CDC’s Procurement and Grants Office has published a request for application, “Academic Partners Public Health Training Grant” at http://www.cdc.gov/od/pgo/funding/grantmain.htm The purpose of the
program is to:

(a) provide trainees the opportunity to learn about broad, cross-cutting public health policy and program development at the Federal, state, and local government level; and
(b) make progress toward achieving the prevention objectives of “Healthy People 2010.”

Please note that the PubMed workbook includes the most recent significant changes to PubMed, including My NCBI.

The manuals are available for downloading in PDF and Microsoft Word formats. They are broken down into sections so you can choose the areas of interest to you.
