Description: The purpose of this project is to develop a better understanding of the health information needs of people with disabilities and chronic conditions. Also to develop a Web site for Disability and Rehabilitation with a focus on brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, chronic pain, musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions. Finally to promote and market the Disability and Rehabilitation Web site.

Description: This project, Kentucky Health Literacy for the Community (KHLC), will be administered by the University of Kentucky Medical Center Library as a collaborative effort with Health Literacy Kentucky (HLK), a coalition of more than 35 organizations dedicated to improving health literacy in Kentucky. The project will address the HLK mission of “a healthier Commonwealth through improved health literacy” via collaboration among its partner organizations. KHLC will offer the presentation Play to Win: You and Your Healthcare Team to community members across the state. Play to Win is an interactive program, designed to help average people communicate more effectively with all members of their health care team and through this to help create a more health literate population in Kentucky.
