Thank you for your comment! I was also a little surprised at the prediction of tv everywhere, especially when you can use services like Hulu+ to watch episodes of tv shows, or movies on an iPad or other tablet. However, not every show is available on the tablet, I was disappointed that certain shows HAD to be watched on a computer. When reading the fine print, it's all about the contracts between Hulu+ and the company that produced the show or movie - hopefully they will realize they are 'shooting themselves in the foot' if they don't make everything available on a mobile device. I know also I would prefer to be able to watch DVR'd shows/movies on a mobile device like an iPad - especially since I travel so much. You can do it apparently with Comcast, however they do not make it very easy.

These are both great lists although I do agree with Cashmore a bit more. My grandma received her first tablet last year and because of how easy they are to use she has completely fallen in love with the technology. I think it is also interesting that TV everywhere made his list because 2011 seemed to be a year when TV providers realized that mobile devices make the perfect mobile TV. Being that I have been using the DISH Remote Access app since 2010, I know that I love having the convenience of LIVE TV and my DVR recordings on call wherever I have access to Wi-Fi or mobile 3G network. I think it is funny that other TV providers did not manage to release similar apps until 2011, and none of them has been able to attain true “everywhere” the way DISH has. 2012 seems like it will be a promising year for these tech trends, and since I work for DISH, I know that the gadgets that are coming out are going to revolutionize TV as we know it.

Hi Duncan -
I would suggest contacting Jennifer at the address she gives in the blog article if you are interested in visiting. I'm not sure she reads these comments as she was a guest contributor.

Thanks,
The Cornflower Team.

I will be in the Minneapolis area sometime next month as part of my annual visit to the area and was hoping to come and pay a visit with regards to accessing some of the information available to guests. Is there any specific time that would be appropriate for the library staff? Many thanks Duncan
