Health sciences librarians from Ebling Library, St. Mary’s and Meriter hospitals and Edgewood College contributed their time and expertise at the 8th Annual Latino Health Fair held Saturday, September 9, 2006, at the Alliant Center in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Fair, which drew approximately 600 visitors, is an annual event organized by the Latino Health Council and sponsored by organizations, agencies and businesses committed to providing health-related information and services to the Latino community. The Fair is a family event with adult health screenings, refreshments, live music, dance and lots of healthcare information.

Click for larger imageWith the GMR’s large display as a backdrop, the exhibit included Spanish-language brochures from NLM and plenty of give-a-ways such as bookmarks, pens, beanie babies, handouts from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation library and more. Joining approximately 47 other exhibitors, health sciences librarians demonstrated Spanish MedlinePlus tutorials, Tox Town and the Household Products database available via an Internet-enabled computer.
