Technology Award Improves Service to Users

Greater Midwest Region By Morgann Thomas, Librarian
Carle Foundation Hospital Library
Urbana, IL

Due in no small part to a technology award from the U. S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), Carle Foundation Hospital Library has recently leapt into the cutting edge of library services. A purchase of a new combination printer/scanner/copier/fax has allowed library staff to expand electronic access to our collection as well as greatly decrease the time lag in providing interlibrary loan services. Our new machine has increased our staff’s efficiency, reduced our enormous usage of paper, and allowed us to impress our patrons with the new services we can offer. Thank you, NLM, for helping to bring Carle Foundation Hospital Library into the 21st century.

For questions or further information, please call the library at 217-383-3456.

This project has been funded in whole or in part with federal funds from the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, under Contract No. NO1-LM-1-3513.
