AHRQ Releases 2011 State Snapshots
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality released its 2011 State Snapshots – http://bit.ly/LTyVqp. The Snapshots provide state-specific health care quality information, including strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. The goal is to help State officials and their public- and private-sector partners better understand health care quality and disparities in their State. State-level information used the create the State Snapshots is based on data collected for the National Healthcare Quality Report – http://1.usa.gov/L4C1eU.
The State Selection Map – http://bit.ly/MDVrTx – allows you to choose your State to explore the quality of your State’s health care against national rates or best performing States. Summary measures of quality of care and States’ performances relative to all State and the region by:
- Overall health quality
- Types of care (preventive, acute, andd chronic)
- Settings of care (hospitalss, ambulatory care, nursing home, and home health)
- Five clinical conditions (cancer, diabetes, heart disease, maternal and child health, and respiratory diseases)
- Special focus areas on diabetes, asthma, Healthy People 2020, clinical preventative services, disparities, payer, and variation over time.
