Redesigned AIDSinfo and infoSIDA

To mark the upcoming World AIDS Day 2011, a redesigned AIDSinfo Website was released today as well as the Spanish language infoSIDA. These sites offer federally-approved information on HIV research and treatment, including medical practice guidelines and treatment and prevention research studies, to health care providers, researchers, people affected by HIV/AIDS, and the general public.

My Medications App from AMA

The American Medical Association’s (AMA) first consumer app, My Medications, hit Apple’s AppStore late last week. The app allows patients to manage their medications, immunizations, allergies, and to access their medical team’s contact information. The app costs just under a dollar: $0.99.

U.S. Teens Don’t Eat Enough Fruits and Veggies: CDC

U.S. high school students still aren’t eating enough fruits and vegetables, according to a new study by U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention researchers. Vegetable consumption was lowest among Hispanic and black students.

Office of Migrant Education Announces Invitations for Applications for High School Equivalency and College Assistance

Thanksgiving Day is also Family Health History Day. Since 2004, the Surgeon General has  encouraged Americans to talk about, and to write down, the health problems that seem to run in their family. Learning about their family’s health history may help ensure a longer, healthier future together.
